At Clubhaus – part of the Kunsthaus initiative – the visual identity reimagines a former restaurant into a dynamic junction of art and gastronomy. Finding itself (both literally and metaphorically) between the venerable Kunsthaus Zürich and Swiss subcultures, Clubhaus emerges as the Home of the New. Here, the traditional spirits of the Kunsthaus are mirrored with contemporary cultural dimensions, thus enabling participants to explore the cracks in between. In the exhibit 'Demanding, Yet Gentle', curators Lhaga Koondhor and Shamiran Istifan articulate a core principle: the essence of an empty space, simplified to basic chairs, tables, and whimsical cards. Seeking inspiration and council from varied communities and reminiscent memories of their parents, who transformed limited spaces into humming social centers, the exhibition resonates with the Kunsthaus' transformative trajectory: Once an art assembly with diverse creators, now a fuse for lofty traditions and mosaic of Swiss subcultures.
